El Castillo de Alicante

Ayer visitamos el increíble castillo de Alicante, una estructura antigua y bonita que está encima de una montañita mirando a la ciudad. Fue un viaje duro a causa de la altura del castillo y el tiempo calor, pero valió la pena: el castillo tiene vistas magníficos de la ciudad y del mar Mediterráneo, y por eso todos sacamos muchos fotos (deberías buscarlos en Facebook y Flickr, ¡son absolutamente fantásticos!) Después de que pasamos un rato mirando la ciudad y el mar, fuimos a una tienda pequeña adentro del castillo que se vendió bocadillos y otros alimentos. No comí mucho—solamente un bocadillo con queso, tomate, y tortilla española (que consiste en una mezcla de huevos fritos y rebanadas de patata)—pero era sabroso, probablemente mejor que fue de verdad porque tenía muchísimo hambre después de todo el trabajo que habíamos hecho para llegar al castillo. Para resumir, me desfruté mucho de nuestra viaje al castillo de Alicante este viernes.



The Castle of Alicante

Yesterday we visited the incredible castle of Alicante, an ancient and beautiful structure which is atop a little mountain overlooking the city. It was a tough trek because of the height of the castle and the hot weather, but it was worth the hassle: the castle has magnificent views of the city and the Mediterranean sea, so of course we took a ton of photos (you should look for them on Facebook and Flickr, they’re absolutely fantastic!) After we spent a while looking at the city and the sea, we went to a little shop inside the castle which sold sandwiches and other food. I didn’t eat much—only a sandwich with cheese, tomato, and Spanish tortilla (which consists of a mixture of fried eggs and potato slices)—but it was delicious, probably better than it was in truth because I was so hungry after all the work we had done to get to the castle. To summarize, I enjoyed our trip to the castle of Alicante this Friday very much.
