El viaje a Granada

Alexis Crnkovich
05/25/10

Yesterday, we took an excursion to Granada. Despite the fact that we had to wake up at five in the morning, the trip was totally worth it. We decided to take a private bus due to the fact that the drive is about five hours and we wanted to be comfortable and be able to have a flexible schedule. When we arrived in Granada, we visited the famous cathedral. It was magnificent with a decorated altar, high ceilings with intricate designs, stained glass windows with vibrant colors and many beautiful paintings. Afterwards, we visited the tombs of the famous Spanish kings and queens that was located next to the church. As a matter of fact, we were able to see the tombs of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, those who were involved in giving Christopher Columbus money and resources for his journey. By one o’clock, we were extremely hungry so Cory chose a great restaurant for us to eat lunch at. We had three different courses including a rich chocolate dessert. Finally, we visited the Alhambra, the most famous tourist site in Granada. We walked through all of the gardens and visisted the large castle. We all would have liked to spend more time there, but we were so tired and there were simply not enough hours in the day to see everything. Before returning to Alicante, we stopped at a restaurant to get sandwiches for the bus ride and took pictures at a great photo destination with the Alhambra and the entire city of Granada in the background. We did not get back to the hotel until two in the morning, but all went to sleep immediately after our long day.
