El primer día en Madrid

¡Hola!
Como si muchos saben, ahora estamos en Alicante, pero quiero regresar un poco al primer día que nosotros pasamos en Madrid. Después de muchas horas en el avión, nosotros llegamos a Madrid por la mañana y gastamos todo el día explorando a la ciudad. Primeramente, visitamos El Parque Retiro, el cual es un gran parque en el centro de la ciudad que parecía muy similar a El Parque Central en Nueva York. Era un buen día con mucho sol, y por esa razón, pasamos una hora en el parque y caminamos por todo. Nosotros vemos los jardines, estatuas, monumentos famosos y el lago en el parque. Después, tomamos el autobús a La Plaza Mayor a donde tomamos fotos y comemos un almuerzo tipico de España con jamón, queso, pan, olivos y muchos platos que ponemos en el centro de la mesa para compartir. A pesar de todos estabamos muy cansados, caminamos al Palacio Real a donde visitamos todos los cuartos adornados. Sin embargo, a las cuatro, no podíamos funcionar por un minuto más, y por eso, regresamos al hotel para una siesta. Era la única manera en que podíamos combatir el jet lag. Puesto que solo tenemos esta día en Madrid, a las seís y media, fuimos al Prado para ver todos los cuadros famosos que fueron pintados por Velazquez, Goya, El Greco y muchas artistas famosas. Después de todo, cenamos en un restaurante de tapas que era muy pequeño y compatimos buena comida, cuentos y humor. En conclusión, era un día muy largo pero una experiencia buenísima y todos tenemos un descanso fantástico esa noche.

The First Day in Madrid

As most of you know, we are currently in Alicante, but I would like to go back in time to the first day that we all spent together in Madrid. After a very long plane ride, we arrived in Madrid in the morning and spent the entire day exploring the city. First, we visited El Parque Retiro, which is a large recreational park in the center of the city, very similar to Central Park in New York. It was a nice and sunny day and as a result, we were able to spend an hour walking around. We saw the gardens, famous monuments and statues and the big lake in the center. Afterwards, we took the bus to the Plaza Mayor where we took pictures and ate a typical Spanish lunch with ham, cheese and bread and many other plates shared in the center of the table. In spite of the fact that we were all very tired, we walked to the Royal Palace in the old part of the city and walked through all of the greatly adorned rooms. Nevertheless, at four o’clock, we were not able to function any longer as a result of exhaustion, and we returned to the hotel for an afternoon nap. It was the only way we would have been able to fight the jet lag. Since we only had that one day in Madrid, at six thirty, we went to the famous Prado art museum where we saw many famous paintings by Velazquez, Goya, El Greco and other famous artists. After all of this, we ate tapas in a very small restaurant where we shared good food, stories and laughs. In conclusion, it was a long day but an amazing experience, and we all had a fantastic sleep that night.
